PALMER GENEALOGY PUBLISHED The Walter Palmer Genealogy written by Elmer
Hall Palmer, Society Genealogist contains information regarding the first eight
generations (Walter being generation #1). After some 40 years of research and
compilation of the descendants, the day has finally arrived to announce the manuscript is
now The WALTER PALMER SOCIETY consisting presently of 423 members as listed in Vol.1 is the Publisher. There are literally thousands of descendants spread out over this vast country of ours. Elmer Hall Palmer has also had inquiries and correspondence from such far off places as Saudi Arabia, and Australia. Most of Palmer Records are the results of the Reunion of 1881 held in Stonington, CT. Invitations were sent to all Palmers, no matter whether descendants of Walter or some other immigrant Palmer. From this beginning and through the efforts of subsequent genealogists the nucleus of information known as Palmer Families in America was gathered which encompasses statistics on families of some 35 progenitors. Information in this Genealogy encompasses works of Noyes Fink Palmer, Emily Leavitt Wilder, Horace Wilbur Palmer and Doris Palmer Buys as well as numerous unpublished manuscripts. It is over 747 pages with some Color pictures of early places and Grave stones of first five generations of our ancestors. It was hoped that publication would be ready for up to 15 generations of information, but new information now coming in is undocumented and is carried as family records. Therefore Vol.2 generations 9-15 will have to await a period of time for us to catch up. A temporary 15 Generation Index is included with Vol.1 so that it can be refined for publication in Vol.2 which it is anticipated will be of equal size to Vol.1.
